Job Description: To maintain the functionality of university facilities through the removal of snow and ice on an on-call basis.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Usage of machinery to remove snow from campus walkways
Attending to on-call shifts outside of business hours during snow events
Maintain communication with the Maintenance Supervisor via email, text, or phone call
Monitor weather conditions and prepare accordingly
Routine care/maintenance of machinery used
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Currently enrolled student at NCU
Knowledge of basic equipment operation & care
Ability to communicate well on various platforms to insure shared understanding of information & responsibilities
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Use of hand tools
Experience in equipment operation & snow removal preferred
Additional Comments:
Work environment includes exposure to dust or chemicals and extremes in temperature
Snow Removal Equipment Operators are hired for the winter season and the position is a contractual agreement
Year-end bonus is included if all job requirements are met during the snow removal season (i.e., arriving on time for each snow event, clearing the snow properly, etc.)
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be required during operation of machinery
Hours/Week: Hours depend on number of snow events during a given time
Operating Hours: 4:30 PM—8:00 AM in various shifts Number of Positions Available: 6
